Manga & Graphic Novel Day
Friday 19th November - make a date in your diary for the event of the year!
Peters have got together with Raintree Publishing to stage a professional development day for children's and school librarians.
Learn more about:
- Using graphic novels as tools to motivate reluctant readers.
- How graphic novels can provide access to reading for struggling or EAL readers.
- How a story is told in a Manga or graphic novel - the devices used.
- The history of graphic novels and Manga.
- Using Manga and graphic novels to develop visual literacy.
Michael Dahl, author of more than 100 books for children and young adults, including The Library of Doom and Dragonblood series will be speaking together with Peters' own librarian, Lucy Forrester, who works hard to develop awareness and knowledge of the genre.
The event will be held at Peters in Birmingham, and the entry fee of £10 per person includes a buffet lunch.
